Meet Sharon
Hello, I’m Sharon Lane, the founder and director of Cardiff Bookkeeping and Accountancy Services Ltd.
I live in Cardiff and have three grown-up children. I formed Cardiff Bookkeeping and Accountancy Services Ltd in 2017, after gaining more than 30 years of experience in business and accounting.
I genuinely enjoy meeting my clients, learning about their businesses and helping them understand their accounts and tax responsibilities.
Accounting can sometimes feel complicated or overwhelming, particularly when rules and reporting requirements are changing. My role is to make things easier to understand and to provide the support you need in plain English.
A Personal and Hands-On Service
I believe that accountancy should be personal.
When you contact Cardiff Bookkeeping and Accountancy Services Ltd, you deal directly with me. You will not be passed between different departments or have to explain your circumstances repeatedly to different people.
I take the time to get to know each client and understand how their business works. Every business and individual is different, so the support I provide is tailored to your particular circumstances and requirements.
I explain what is happening, what needs to be done and why it matters. I do not believe that clients should be presented with figures or forms without understanding what they mean.
I work mainly from my home office in Cardiff and offer appointments by telephone, online or in person.
Evening and weekend appointments are also available by prior arrangement, making it easier to speak at a time that fits around your business, work or family commitments.

Digital Accounting with a Human Approach
Accounting and record-keeping procedures are changing, particularly with the introduction of Making Tax Digital for VAT and Income Tax.
I embrace accounting technology and help my clients use it in a practical and straightforward way.
Digital accounting software can save time, improve record-keeping and reduce the risk of errors when it is set up and used correctly. However, I also understand that changing to digital record-keeping can feel daunting.
I can help with accounting software, bank feeds, digital bookkeeping, quarterly updates and the practical requirements of Making Tax Digital.
I make sure that my clients understand what their software is doing, what records they need to keep and what information still needs to be checked.
My aim is to combine the convenience of digital accounting with the reassurance of having a real person available when you need advice or assistance.
